Canterbury, often described as 'The Cradle of Christianity' and, today, home of the Mother Church of the Anglican Communion. Still retaining its Medieval heart where you can trace the footsteps of kings and queens, or humble pilgrims, all of whom made their way to visit the Cathedral and the Shrine of St Thomas Becket. It began as a city under Roman rule, and we can still see evidence of this today. However we are also a modern, bustling city with theatre, shops, bars, restaurants, a thriving student community. Meet the colourful characters who are all part of Canterbury’s exciting story!

The itinerary may be subject to change depending on choice of meeting place, day of week, mobility concerns etc. and is strictly subject to opening times/conditions of Canterbury Cathedral. We can of course be flexible but plan to include:
• Meet, orientation and Photo stop outside the ruins of St Augustine's Abbey (10 minutes)
• Walk past the Gateways to the former Abbey with photo opportunities
• A five minute walk across the green.
• A 10 minute walk passing the walls of Canterbury and into the city centre (medieval heart) (photo stops en-route)
• A private guided tour of Canterbury Cathedral (interior, precincts and cloisters - up to 2 hours)
• A 15 minute walk through the backstreets of the city, crossing over The River Stour
• Photo opportunities of the statues and monuments en-route
• Passing Canterbury's Westgate and city walls.

Of course, there will be opportunities for comfort stops/refreshment stops throughout the tour, and can be adapted to suit your best interests and requirements
